Census Bureau: 7.7% of people in Arlington County identified as multiracial in 2021

Of the 235,764 citizens living in Arlington County in 2021, 92.3% said they were only one race, while 7.7% said they were two or more races, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained in June.

The most prevalent racial group among citizens in Arlington County who reported being of a single race in 2021 was white, comprising 67.2% or 158,344 individuals. Following them, Asian accounted for 10.2% and totaled 24,116 individuals.

The percentage of multiracial residents in Arlington County is 1.8% higher than the state average, which stands at 5.9%.
