Representative Don Beyer, who currently serves in the U.S. Congress representing Virginia's 8th district, has taken to social media to express his concerns on recent political events. Beyer, born in 1950 in the Free Territory of Trieste and a graduate of Williams College, replaced Jim Moran in Congress in 2015.

On March 26, 2025, Beyer addressed his concerns regarding an executive action by the Trump Administration. In a statement shared on Twitter, he said, "New: following last week's unlawful and unprecedented executive overreach, @RepTerriSewell and I are demanding answers on what the hell is going on with the Trump Administration and the U.S. Institute of Peace."

The next day, Beyer further engaged his audience by discussing the Justice Department's investigation processes. On March 27, 2025, he tweeted, "OK let's talk about it. The Justice Department DID investigate Hillary Clinton's handling of classified info. They DID investigate Joe Biden's handling of classified info. Defense officials say Hegseth likely shared classified info on Signal. DOJ has to investigate this too."

Continuing his critique, Beyer reflected on the scrutiny faced by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton over classified information protocol. On the same day, he posted, "Bringing up Hillary Clinton is not the own you think it is. Republicans made her testify for 11 hours on her handling of classified information. I was there. Now the same Republicans are bending themselves into pretzels to justify what Hegseth did. They think you are stupid."
