Rep. Don Beyer, currently serving in the U.S. Congress for Virginia's 8th district, shared his views on Twitter regarding a security breach during the Trump Administration. His tweets focused on the severity of the breach and its potential consequences.

On March 24, 2025, Rep. Beyer commented on an article discussing the gravity of a security breach by the Trump Administration. He stated that "Former White House national security aides put into context what an extraordinary breach of security the Trump Administration's text chat discussing war plans represents, and how bad the consequences might have been."

In a follow-up tweet on March 25, 2025, he addressed a response from a government official concerning the same issue. Rep. Beyer remarked: "Thank you for this sober response, Mr. Secretary, but the Trump Administration already confirmed that the Atlantic’s story is authentic."

Later that day, he provided more details about what was discussed in those communications. He wrote: "They shared specific plans to bomb foreign actors, discussing targets, strategy, diplomacy, timing, and munitions—before the strike... If our adversaries had those plans American soldiers' lives would've been at risk... If you're going to lie at least lie better."
