Dr. Manish Khanna said septoplasty is a proficient and impactful in-office procedure that can improve overall health and quality of life. Dr. Khanna is an ear, nose and throat surgeon at Capitol Breathe Free.

"Septoplasty is a highly effective procedure that can improve a myriad of symptoms, including nasal congestion, snoring, and headaches," Dr. Khanna told Central Nova News. "It has a tremendous potential to improve a patient’s overall quality of life."

According to his bio on Capitol Breathe Free's website, Dr. Khanna, a Maryland native, graduated from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, completed his medical degree at Albany Medical College, and finished his otolaryngology residency at Albany Medical Center in 2007. Following a Rhinology Fellowship at the California Sinus Institute, he returned to the DC metro area in 2008. Board-certified in Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery, he served as the director of the Sinus Institute of Northern Virginia until 2018. Currently on staff at Harborside Surgery Center and Sibley Memorial Hospital, Dr. Khanna specializes in providing quality care for ear, nose and throat patients.

According to the Mayo Clinic, a septoplasty is a surgery designed to rectify the misalignment of the bone and cartilage that separates the nasal passages, commonly known as the septum.

One patient, Brianne, who received a septoplasty at the Woodbridge office, said the procedure was easy and relatively painless. After the septoplasty, Brianne noticed her energy levels were up, her breathing was improved, and her memory was better.

Hollywood stars Jennifer Aniston and Cameron Diaz have had the septoplasty procedures for health reasons rather than cosmetic reasons. Both actresses had the procedure done to improve their breathing and quality of life, the Daily Mail previously reported.

Another patient, Patrice, who has endured a deviated septum and chronic throat issues since childhood, discovered the potential for a septoplasty to substantially enhance her quality of life during her visit to Capitol Breathe Free, describing it as an "eye-opening" experience.
