2.8% of citizens unemployed in Arlington County in 2021

Arlington County recorded an unemployment rate of 2.8% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 4,393 people out of the 235,764 living in Arlington County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Arlington County has remained fairly stable compared to the 2.8% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Arlington County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 4.5%.

Of the 150,413 people who had a job during that time, 3,863 were employed in the Armed Forces and 146,550 belonged to the civilian labor force.
