The City of Alexandria is set to host its annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, November 23, at 6 p.m. in Market Square. This event will also mark the conclusion of Alexandria's yearlong 275th Celebration. Admission is free, and the ceremony will proceed regardless of weather conditions.

Participants are invited to gather around the tree as the Town Crier leads a countdown to the lighting, which is anticipated between 6:40 - 6:55 p.m., following Santa's arrival via the King Street Trolley. Post-lighting, music and festivities will commence with Santa and Mrs. Claus mingling with families until 8 p.m.

Attendees are advised to use public transportation or walk to the event. Options include taking Metrorail’s Blue or Yellow lines to King Street-Old Town Station and then using the complimentary King Street Trolley to reach City Hall.

A new feature this year is DASH's inaugural Winter Trolley, offering rides through Alexandria on a trolley adorned with winter-themed decorations, starting from the Holiday Tree Lighting.
