Early voting for the November 5, 2024 General Election in Alexandria will commence on September 20. The ballot will include elections for US President and Vice President, US Senate, US House of Representatives, Mayor, City Council, School Board, and a proposed Constitutional Amendment.
All registered voters in Virginia can vote by mail or in person. The deadline for early voting is Saturday, November 2 at 5 p.m. In-person early voting is available at the Office of Voter Registration & Elections starting September 20 and at other locations from October 21.
Applications for mail-in ballots must be received by October 25. Completed ballots must be returned by November 5 or postmarked by that date and received by noon on November 8.
Ballot drop boxes will be available at polling places on Election Day from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., with an outdoor drop box accessible around the clock until November 5.
The normal voter registration deadline is October 15. Same Day Registration begins on October 16 and continues through Election Day.
