The Vive Lafayette Wine Challenge is set to take place on Friday, February 21, from 7-9:30 p.m. at Gadsby’s Tavern Museum in Alexandria. This event marks the 200th anniversary of the Marquis de Lafayette's visit to Alexandria on February 21, 1825.
Attendees will have the opportunity to taste six wine varieties paired with hors d’oeuvres and charcuterie while participating in a friendly competition between French and Virginian wines. The evening will also feature tavern games, music from the 19th century, and an appearance by a reenactor portraying the Marquis de Lafayette.
Tickets for this event are priced at $100 and can be purchased online at alexandriava.gov/Shop. It is important to note that due to the historic nature of Gadsby’s Tavern Museum, there is no elevator access to the second floor where the event will be held.
