Rep. Don Beyer, a U.S. Congressman representing Virginia’s 8th district since 2015, recently shared several statements via social media addressing current political events and activities. Born in Trieste in 1950 and residing in Alexandria, Beyer is an alumnus of Williams College.
On March 3, 2025, Rep. Beyer announced he was hosting a telephone town hall that evening, inviting constituents to follow live through a provided link: "HAPPENING NOW: I'm hosting tonight's telephone town hall."
The following day, on March 4, Beyer criticized former President Donald Trump in relation to Russia's influence over U.S. interests: "Putin, the Kremlin, and Russia get exactly what they want from Donald Trump while our allies and our own national interests get screwed. Again."
Later that day, he commented on President Trump's upcoming address to Congress, expressing concern about its impact on his constituents: "This evening President Trump will address a coequal branch of government for which he has shown total contempt and disregard. Meanwhile my constituents are seeing their livelihoods destroyed, often illegally." He further stated that the actions taken by Trump were neither normal nor acceptable.
