Celebrate Women's History Month with a unique event titled "Sew and Tell: A Trunk Show," organized by the Uhuru Quilters Guild. This gathering will be hosted by the African American History division of the Office of Historic Alexandria. The show is scheduled for Saturday, March 22, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Alexandria Black History Museum, located at 902 Wythe Street in Alexandria, VA.
The event will feature quilts created by members of the Uhuru Quilters Guild, an African American quilting guild based in Prince George’s County. Attendees can expect an interactive program that showcases the intricate craftsmanship involved in quilting. Members will present some of their most creative pieces and discuss their artistic process and innovative approaches to creating these works.
