Cost of college went up for all students at Strayer University-Virginia

Tuition and fees rose 2.1 percent for 2018-19 at Strayer University-Virginia, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Virginia students paid $13,380 to attend the four-year private for-profit institution this year – $477 less than the $13,857 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 25 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 4 students received grants or scholarships totaling $14,203 and 6 students took out student loans totaling more than $47,501.

Including all undergraduates (5,520), 2,050 students used grants or scholarships totaling $9.3 million, and 2,440 students took out $26.5 million in federal student loans.
