Performix Nutrition Systems ins Top Liquid Feed Industry Award

26

American Feed Industry Association issued the following announcement on Sept. 17

Last week, I had the honor of presenting PerforMix Nutrition Systems’ Rupert, Idaho, feed manufacturing facility with the American Feed Industry Association’s 2021 Liquid Feed Facility of the Year (FFY) award. In coordination with Feedstuffs’ Sarah Muirhead, we presented the award to the facility’s plant manager, Ty Cahoon, before industry colleagues at the AFIA Liquid Feed Symposium.

What made this facility rise to the top of the liquid feed competition this year was its company’s years of experience manufacturing liquid feed, which has enabled it to produce experienced and engaged employees and an excellent plant design. The facility generates approximately 56,000 tons of feed annually, primarily for beef and dairy cattle. With its state-of-the-art mixing system and fully automated facility, the facility has achieved a 12-14% annual growth rate.

This is the first time PerforMix has won a FFY award, but hopefully, it will not be the last. The company’s director of operations, Kirk Bowman, said that the FFY program has given them standards to improve, which will be vital in benchmarking where they are at a corporate level now and how they can continue to meet or exceed its corporate standards.

Overall, this year we had 18 facilities apply to the liquid feed FFY program. I would like to thank all who applied this year and hope you will join me in congratulating the team at PerforMix Nutrition for their hard work and dedication to producing safe, quality liquid feed!
