The City of Alexandria's Department of Transportation and Environmental Services is requesting community feedback on proposed safety enhancements for Sanger Avenue. This initiative aims to improve mobility, access, and safety for all roadway users on Sanger Avenue, between North Beauregard Street and Van Dorn Street.

Residents are encouraged to share their input by completing an online feedback form available until November 25.

The potential improvements under consideration include new pedestrian crossings, more accessible bus stops, curb extensions for enhanced pedestrian safety, and converting curbside travel lanes into all-day parking. This project is aligned with the future West End Transitway bus route to ensure accessible bus stops along Sanger Avenue.

For further details about the City's traffic safety initiatives, visit the Complete Streets and Vision Zero program webpages. Additional information on the Sanger Avenue Safety Improvements project can be found on the project's website.
