On Sunday, November 17 at 10:57 p.m., the Alexandria Fire Department responded to a fire in a commercial building located at 103 South Saint Asaph Street. Upon arrival, units found smoke emanating from within the structure.
The fire was successfully extinguished without any reported injuries. A total of 53 firefighters, including investigators, were involved in handling the incident.
Three businesses operate within the affected building: Friends to Lovers Bookstore, Little Birdies Boutique, and Madame Coco. All three establishments suffered smoke and water damage due to efforts to put out the fire.
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by the Fire Marshal's Office.
