The City of Alexandria has rescheduled its webinar on the Stormwater Utility Fee Credit Program to Wednesday, January 22, due to inclement weather. The session will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will be conducted via Zoom by the City's Department of Transportation and Environmental Services Stormwater Management Division.

Residents are encouraged to participate in the webinar to learn about the program. During the session, staff will present information and address any questions from participants in a Q&A segment.

Applications for the Stormwater Utility Fee Credit Program are being accepted from December 1 through February 15. Property owners can apply for a reduction or 'credit' of up to 50 percent on their SWU Fee by implementing eligible stormwater management practices on their property.

The SWU Fee is included as a separate line item on real estate tax bills and is determined by the amount of impervious area on a property. This fee funds the City's stormwater management initiatives, including flood mitigation projects under Flood Action Alexandria and maintenance activities like storm inlet and pipe cleaning.

Credits that are approved will remain valid for two years.

For those requiring reasonable disability accommodation, contact 703.746.3960 or Virginia Relay at 711.
