Most government offices in Alexandria will close on Monday, October 14, to observe Indigenous Peoples' Day. However, the Office of Voter Registration and Elections will remain open.

The DASH bus service will follow a Saturday schedule, while the King Street Trolley will run every 15 minutes from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., connecting King Street Metro to City Hall/Market Square.

Emergency services hotlines, including Child Protective Services at 703.746.5800 and the Domestic Violence Hotline at 703.746.4911, will operate around the clock as usual.

Courts such as the General District Court and Circuit Court will be closed for the day. The DMV Select locations may have different operating hours; customers are advised to check locally.

The Alexandria Health Department and associated centers like Flora Krause Casey Health Center and Teen Wellness Centers will maintain their regular schedules.

City museums will also be open according to their standard schedules, although Freedom House is only accessible on weekends due to ongoing construction.

All library branches in Alexandria will be closed on this holiday. Meanwhile, parking enforcement for metered spaces and residential permit areas by the Alexandria Police Department will be suspended but only applies to legal parking spaces; illegal parking remains prohibited.

Charles Houston, Chinquapin, and Patrick Henry Recreation Centers are scheduled to open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., whereas other recreation centers in the city will not operate that day.

The Household Hazardous Waste Electronic Collection Drop-off Center is among facilities that won't open on October 14. Residential refuse collection services will experience a one-day delay throughout that week except for curbside food waste collection which continues as normal.
