The Portside in Old Town Summer Festival is set to take place on June 21 and 22 at Waterfront Park in Alexandria. The event will feature jazz performances, poetry readings, a diverse music lineup, local food, art activities, and historical events.

Parking restrictions and block closures have been announced for the festival. Reserved parking areas near Waterfront Park will be in effect from June 20 to June 23 to accommodate event logistics. The unit block of Prince Street will be closed on June 22 for safety reasons, with access limited to event personnel and vendors. The Alexandria Police Department will oversee the closure.

Festival attendees are encouraged to use public transportation options due to limited parking availability. Options include the King St-Old Town Metrorail station, free King Street Trolley service, DASH buses, Capital Bikeshare stations, dockless mobility devices like e-scooters and e-bikes, water taxis, rideshare services such as Lyft and Uber, and local taxi companies.

For those who choose to drive, it is recommended to park at garages or lots away from the waterfront due to restricted street parking. Information on available garages can be found on the City of Alexandria's website.

Translation services are available for non-English speakers by contacting LanguageAccess@alexandriava.gov or calling 703.746.3960.

The festival coincides with Alexandria's 275th anniversary celebrations that run from April through September.
