The Alexandria Police Department is currently investigating a death that occurred this afternoon. At around 1:27 PM, officers responded to a report of a deceased person found in the river near the 4100 block of Mount Vernon Avenue, close to Four Mile Park. Upon arrival, they discovered an adult male who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will be responsible for conducting an autopsy to determine both the cause and manner of death.
