The Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria is set to host a workshop titled "The Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Mathematics Inherent in Hip Hop Culture" on March 27 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This event will explore the integration of STEM and arts within hip-hop culture.
Led by Virginia Tech's “Digging in the Crates” (VTDITC) Hip Hop Studies team, the workshop will delve into the science behind DJing and beat making. Participants will have the opportunity to observe these art forms and engage in hands-on activities.
The event is open to adults and teenagers with an RSVP required for attendance. While it is designed primarily for adults, teenagers are encouraged to attend with adult supervision for younger participants. There is no cost associated with participation.
This initiative is part of a series facilitated through collaboration between Virginia Tech's Institute for Creative Arts and Technology, Expressions at Amazon Arlington, and Alexandria’s Office of the Arts.
