Representative Don Beyer, serving Virginia's 8th district in the U.S. Congress since 2015, recently shared his views on various matters through a series of tweets. His statements addressed issues related to aviation safety and employment disputes involving federal workers.
On March 12, 2025, Rep. Beyer expressed his satisfaction with actions taken by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) concerning airspace and flight routes near Washington D.C.'s airport. He stated, "As we await the @NTSB's final investigation and report, I'm glad to see DOT and FAA take immediate action addressing initial concerns about the airspace and flight routes near DCA."
The following day, on March 13, 2025, he commented on recent developments affecting federal workers allegedly dismissed without cause under previous administrations. He remarked on this situation as "Huge, excellent news. This affects tens of thousands of federal workers who were illegally fired by Musk and Trump without cause."
Later that day, Beyer announced his support for legislation aimed at reinstating these workers. He wrote, "I cosponsored legislation from @RepLaMonica to reinstate ALL of these wrongly fired employees - with back pay. Just need the political will to pass it."
