The Alexandria Police Department (APD) is organizing its inaugural Women in Law Enforcement Hiring event on March 30, from 2 to 5 p.m. The seminar aims to attract women interested in law enforcement careers and inform them about the roles available within the department. Those wishing to attend can RSVP and find more details at alexandriava.gov/JoinAPD.

Participants will have the chance to explore both full-time and part-time opportunities for sworn officers and professional staff members. The event will provide insights into the various units of APD and discuss potential career advancement within the department. Attendees will also gain an understanding of the Police Academy experience and what it takes to succeed in such a role.

The schedule includes a department tour from 2 to 4 p.m., followed by a panel discussion with Tina Laguna, APD's assistant chief of police, from 4 to 5 p.m. The open house will take place at APD Police Headquarters located at 3066 Wheeler Ave.

The APD encourages community members to share this invitation with women who might excel as officers or professional staff members, aiming to strengthen the department with diverse talent.
