Alexandria Police seek community help in locating robbery suspect Dexter Brown

The Alexandria Police Department (APD) has requested help from the community to locate Dexter Brown, a suspect involved in an armed robbery that took place this morning in Alexandria, Virginia. Authorities have classified Mr. Brown as armed and dangerous, advising the public to avoid approaching him but to contact 911 if they have any information on his whereabouts.

Mr. Brown faces charges that include Robbery while Armed, Shooting in an Occupied Building, Violent Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.

The incident occurred around 10:32 a.m. on the 1300 block of King Street, where APD officers responded to reports of a commercial robbery in progress. Dexter Brown allegedly entered the premises, discharged a firearm multiple times, seized an undisclosed sum from the cash register, and then fled. While no injuries have been reported, detectives continue to pursue leads in the investigation.
