The Bill of Rights Institute Socratic Seminars immerse teachers in the experience of Socratic practice, while exploring the tools and preparation that they can bring back to their own classrooms. In this two-day workshop, with a Dinner & Discussion in the evening between, participants will not only learn about, but also engage in Socratic practice to build confidence in dialogue-based pedagogy.
Some highlights of the agenda include:
- Examining and Partaking in Dialogue Activities
- How to support successful Socratic discussion in the classroom.
- Building Class Culture, Selecting Texts, Cultivating Engagement
- Developing Tools for Assessment and Evaluation, and Qualities of Effective Questioning and Good Reasoning
