City of Alexandria Offers Free Tax Preparation to Eligible Residents at Del Pepper Community Resource Center

Alexandria, Va. –  The Department of Community and Human Services is offering free tax preparation services to qualifying residents. Taxpayers may be eligible if their income is below $64,000 for individuals and families. Expert volunteers from Community Tax Aid, Inc. will ensure that taxpayers apply for all applicable credits and deductions, especially the Earned Income Tax Credit and the Child Tax Credit, which people may not realize they are eligible to receive. Electronic filing is provided.

Services will be offered Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon, and Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., February 7 through April 17, at the Del Pepper Community Resource Center (4850 Mark Center Drive). For an appointment, please call 202.830.1480 (English) or 202.869.2999 (Spanish). Limited walk-in spots are available.

In the event of inclement weather, if Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) close or if school activities are cancelled, as reported on the ACPS Hotline (703.866.5300), tax services will also be cancelled.
