The City of Alexandria's Department of Transportation and Environmental Services is tasked with maintaining sidewalks, alleys, and over 561 lane miles of road. The city's repaving, patching, sidewalk, and alley programs aim to keep infrastructure in good condition for pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, and all users.

Businesses and residents on streets scheduled for repaving are notified in advance through project signs or letters. Temporary "No Parking" signs will be posted before work begins. Observing these signs is necessary to avoid tickets and potential towing.

The street repaving list and schedule can change due to factors such as weather conditions, equipment availability, other ongoing projects, and utility work coordination.

Scheduled citywide street repaving from October 28 to November 1 includes:

- Seay Street (from Longview Drive to end)

- Viewpoint Road (from Longview Drive to end)

- Robinson Court (from Janney’s Lane to end)
