Alexandria prepares to honor centenarians on National Centenarian Day

The City of Alexandria, in collaboration with the City's Successful Aging Committee, is set to honor its centenarian residents on National Centenarian Day. The event will take place on September 10 at 5 p.m. in the Vola Lawson Lobby of City Hall, located at 301 King Street.

Residents who are 100 years or older by December 31, 2024, are eligible for recognition. Those who participate will receive a certificate acknowledging their lifetime experiences and achievements. Interested individuals or nominators must complete an application and social history form by August 13 to be part of the celebration.

The Successful Aging Committee includes representatives from Senior Services of Alexandria, St. Martin de Porres Senior Center (Catholic Charities), the Charles Houston Senior Center (Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority), and the City of Alexandria.
