The City of Alexandria has issued a clarification regarding recent boil water advisory texts sent by Arlington County. Residents are informed that these advisories do not apply to the water supply in Alexandria.

Water in the City of Alexandria remains unaffected and is deemed safe for consumption and cooking purposes.

On June 7, 2024, some residents in areas near Arlington County may have received notifications concerning a boil water advisory. It is important to note that this advisory pertains solely to specific parts of Arlington County and is expected to remain in effect until June 9.

For those who received the text and are unsure if their residence falls within the City of Alexandria, resources are available. Individuals can verify their location using the city map, contact the helpline at 703.746.4444, or report non-emergency issues through @AlexandriaVA311 via direct message.
