Community members in Alexandria are invited to participate in a meeting regarding the relocation of the Fort Ward Park Playground. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts, which began in 2022, to enhance park accessibility and ensure compliance with ADA standards as outlined in the Fort Ward Park and Museum Area Management Plan.

The meeting will provide updates on the design development process for moving the playground uphill from its current location. Attendees will have an opportunity to engage in a Q&A session.

The virtual community meeting is scheduled for June 26 at 7 p.m. on Zoom. Interested participants can register now, and presentation materials will be available on the Fort Ward Management Plan website by June 21.

For more information about the project or prior planning studies, individuals can visit the Fort Ward Area Management Plan website.
