The City of Alexandria's Department of Transportation and Environmental Services is tasked with maintaining sidewalks, alleys, and over 561 lane miles of road. This responsibility includes repaving, patching, sidewalk, and alley programs to ensure safe travel for pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, and all users within the city.
Residents and businesses on streets scheduled for repaving receive advance notice through project signs or letters. Temporary "No Parking" signs are also posted before work begins to prevent tickets and vehicle towing.
It is important to note that the street repaving list and schedule may change due to factors such as weather conditions, equipment availability, other city projects, and utility work coordination.
Scheduled street repaving from June 17 to June 23 includes Cameron Station Boulevard from Duke Street to South Pickett Street starting on June 20. Recently completed projects include Mark Center Drive from Seminary Road to North Beauregard Street at night, King Street from Janneys Lane to Dangerfield Road, and Callahan Drive from Duke Street to King Street.
