The City of Alexandria is set to host a virtual community meeting on June 27, 2024, focusing on the South of Airport Noise Mitigation Project. The event will start at 6:00 p.m., providing an opportunity for residents to learn about efforts to address airport noise issues.

Vianair Consulting staff will present an overview of the project and its components during the meeting. They will also be available to answer questions from community members.

In conjunction with the open house, Vianair Consulting has initiated a public survey to gather feedback from residents regarding current conditions and concerns about airport noise. This survey will remain open until after all participating jurisdictions have held their respective meetings.

Details about the virtual open house are available on the City noise website.

The South of Airport Noise Mitigation Project was launched in May 2023 by the City of Alexandria, in partnership with Fairfax County and Prince George’s County. This two-year study aims to develop recommendations for modifying flight procedures to lessen aircraft noise impacts in areas south of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA).

The study involves collaboration with residents and representatives from various organizations, including the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and the MWAA-sponsored DCA Community Working Group (CWG).

Further information on the study can be found on Vianair's website.
