The City of Alexandria's Department of Transportation and Environmental Services is tasked with maintaining sidewalks, alleys, and over 561 lane miles of road. The department's repaving, patching, sidewalk, and alley programs aim to keep the infrastructure in good condition for pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, and all users traveling through the city.
Residents and businesses on streets scheduled for repaving receive advance notice via project signs or letters. Temporary "No Parking" signs are also posted before work begins to prevent ticketing or towing of vehicles. It is important to observe these signs.
The street repaving list and schedule can change due to factors such as weather conditions, equipment issues, other ongoing projects, and utility work coordination.
From June 24 to June 30, Cameron Station Boulevard (from Duke Street to South Pickett Street) is scheduled for repaving starting June 20. Recently completed projects include Mark Center Drive (from Mark Center Avenue to North Beauregard Street), Mark Center Avenue (from Mark Center Drive to Seminary Road), and Business Center Drive (from South Quaker Lane to Roth Street).
