The Alexandria Police Department has released the identities of two individuals involved in a fatal shooting incident at 305 Hooff’s Run Drive on June 29, 2024. The individuals were acquainted with each other.
The victim has been identified as Joshua Wilcox, a 29-year-old from Maryland. The suspect, Charles Hewitt, was a 30-year-old resident of Washington, D.C., who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Authorities responded to the scene around 4 p.m. on June 29 after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found two adult males with gunshot wounds. Both were taken to local hospitals but later succumbed to their injuries.
The Office of the Medical Examiner is tasked with determining the official cause and manner of death for both individuals.
