The Torpedo Factory Art Center will host a reception on May 15, welcoming DC-based artist Nekisha Durrett. Durrett has been selected for the 2025 Site See installation at Waterfront Park. During the event, she will present some of her past projects, including "Queen City" in Arlington and "Airshaft" at the Phillips Collection in Washington, DC.
The schedule includes a welcome reception from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by an artist talk until 7:40 p.m., a Q&A session until 8 p.m., and concludes with a closing reception until 8:30 p.m.
Since its inception in 2019 at Waterfront Park, the Site See series has consistently drawn visitors from across the region. Durrett is the seventh artist featured in this series, following Studio KCA (2024), Nina Cooke John (2023), R&R Studio (2022), Mark Reigelman (2021), Olalekan Jeyifous (2020), and SOFTlab (2019).
For more details about the event or reasonable disability accommodations, individuals can contact Diane Ruggiero via email or phone. Language interpretation services are also available upon request.
