The City of Alexandria's Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Activities (RPCA) has announced a change in the start date for picnic reservations for the 2024 season. Reservations will now open on Monday, March 4, instead of the usual March 1. This adjustment aims to provide better assistance to patrons who need to register in person at the Lee Center and address any questions that may arise.

RPCA's picnic season runs from April to October each year, with reservations beginning in March. Available parks for picnic rentals include Armistead L. Boothe Park, Ben Brenman Park, Chinquapin Park, Fort Ward Park, Lee Center, and Old Town Pool. Joseph Hensley Park is currently under construction and will not be available for rental during the 2024 season. Other parks may also be available for reservation.

For more information or to reserve a picnic area, individuals can contact the Registration & Reservation Office at 703.746.5414 or visit alexandriava.gov/rpca/picnic-reservations.
