The City of Alexandria has appointed Alethea Predeoux as its new Deputy City Manager, with her tenure starting on March 18. In her new role, Predeoux will concentrate on community health, human services, and employee support.
City Manager James Parajon expressed satisfaction with the appointment, stating, “I’m thrilled that we were able to find such a qualified candidate to fill the Deputy City Manager position.” He further emphasized Predeoux’s valuable experience in personnel and healthcare, which he believes will benefit both the Alexandria community and city employees.
Parajon also acknowledged the contributions of Finance Director Kendel Taylor and Director of Human Rights and Acting Human Resources Director Jean Kelleher for their interim roles. “Their strong work and flexibility allowed us time to identify the strongest candidate,” he noted.
Predeoux's career includes serving as Chief of Staff at the United States Office of Personnel Management (OPM), where she was responsible for ensuring smooth daily operations. Her background also covers healthcare policy and labor work with organizations like Paralyzed Veterans of America and the American Federation of Government Employees, AFL-CIO.
An Alexandria resident for many years, Predeoux holds a degree from Spelman College and a master’s from George Mason University’s Schar School of Policy and Government.
