The Office of Housing in Alexandria is seeking input from residents through a survey aimed at understanding housing needs and issues within the community. The feedback will help shape the Housing 2040 Master Plan, which will outline goals and recommendations for housing development over the next two decades. Residents can participate in the survey until January 12, 2025, with options available in multiple languages including Spanish, Amharic, Arabic, Dari, and Pashto.

Paper copies of the survey can be obtained at the Office of Housing located at 421 King Street or during upcoming community engagement events. Those who prefer to receive a mailed copy can contact Christopher Do at 703.746.3084 or via email at christopher.do@alexandriava.gov.

The initiative follows the city's 2013 Housing Master Plan that set strategies to address housing needs up until 2025. With this update extending to 2040, Alexandria aims to establish new affordability goals and evaluate policies and programs that support both residents and workers.

Further information about the Housing 2040 process can be found on presentations and recordings available on alexandriava.gov/HousingPlan. Additionally, resources regarding affordable housing development and landlord-tenant topics are accessible on the Housing 2040 Education website.
