The Alexandria History Museum at The Lyceum will host a lecture titled "Hidden Nurses" on March 27, from 7 to 9 p.m. Dr. Victoria Tucker, a nurse and public historian, will present her research on African American nursing students in Albemarle County, Virginia. Her work has highlighted the struggles of these students who were denied entry to the University of Virginia and instead pursued their careers through the segregated J.P. Burley High School. This research led to a public apology from UVA and the dedication of a memorial bench and natural space in their honor.

Registration for the Alexandria Archaeology Summer Camp is now open. The camp will run from June 23-27 for ages 13-15, with scholarships available. Participants will engage in archaeological excavation and artifact processing methods.

A Discovering Alexandria Architecture Walking Tour is scheduled for March 15 at Carlyle House. Reservations are required due to limited space.

On March 17, Lucinda Dukes Edinburg will discuss the Hammond-Harwood House as part of the Alexandria Association Lecture Series at The Lyceum.

Other events include a specialty tour on midwifery at Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum on March 21 and 22, French Flow Yoga celebrating International Francophonie Day on March 22, and several more tours and lectures throughout March.

Alexandria's museums offer various activities supporting historic preservation and education. For more information about events or museum hours, visit alexandriava.gov/Historic.
