County Manager Publishes 2022 Annual Report

Arlington County Manager Mark Schwartz today announced the publication of the 2022 Annual Report. This report highlights the accomplishments of the County, and its personnel, throughout the year in support of our key initiatives including COVID-19 response, equity in Arlington, housing and more.

“I am proud of all that we have accomplished this year and look forward to what we will achieve in the future thanks to the leadership of the County Board and the dedication of our staff,” said Schwartz. “During the year, we continued our focus on priority issues such as advancing racial equity and working to expand housing choice for all income households. We adopted a focused economic recovery strategy to enhance business attraction and retention efforts and began implementation of our Vision Zero safety initiative to reduce serious transportation crashes in the community.”

Arlington County Government, working with its community partners, persisted in its focus to meet the public’s needs by mounting a firm public health response to COVID-19, providing financial relief to residents and businesses, and adopting new policies and procedures to improve County services. This goal created a path for rising as a strong and vibrant community once again.

The 2022 Annual Report summarizes progress made on each of the more than 90 action items set forth, including: Realizing Arlington’s Commitment to Equity (RACE) Housing in Arlington Working back from the pandemic A strong multifamily residential pipelineContinued efforts made in environmental sustainability Arlington’s fiscal sustainability
