On December 4, 2024, Rep. Beyer commented on the situation in Korea by stating: "I am awed by the bravery of all the Koreans who stood against the attempted coup." He emphasized that "Our alliance with the Republic of Korea is strongest when centered around democracy and the rule of law."
The following day, December 5, 2024, he criticized former President Donald Trump's decision regarding IRS leadership: "With over three years remaining in IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel’s term, Donald Trump's announcement nominating former Rep. Billy Long to lead the IRS is a terrible mistake." His statement suggests concerns over potential disruptions within tax administration.
Later on December 5th, Rep. Beyer addressed health care concerns related to Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s role at HHS: "RFK Jr.'s running HHS means more kids could die from preventable diseases..." He joined Protect Care VA to highlight what he perceives as threats posed by Kennedy's leadership to American health care progress.
