The Alexandria History Museum at The Lyceum will host Lyceum Late Nights on December 6, 12, and 19. During these evenings, the museum will extend its hours until 9 p.m., providing an opportunity to explore exhibits, shop for gifts, and enjoy a festive environment.
Visitors can support Historic Alexandria by purchasing gifts suited for history enthusiasts and local residents. A notable offering this year is the 2024 Historic Alexandria holiday ornament. This item commemorates the bicentennial of Lafayette's visit to Alexandria in 1824 and features the "Lafayette House," where he stayed. The three-inch brass ornament is packaged in a custom box with a card explaining its historical importance. Purchases can be made at the museum gift shop or online.
A cash bar will operate from 4-9 p.m., adding to the festive appeal of Lyceum Late Nights in Old Town Alexandria.
Additional holiday events organized by Historic Alexandria include concerts, workshops, specialty tours, gingerbread decorating sessions, and story time activities for children. More information is available at alexandriava.gov/Historic.
