As 2025 begins, Historic Alexandria invites the community to engage with its programs and initiatives. The organization is conducting an Annual Survey of Museum-Goers to gather insights on how it can better serve residents and visitors. The survey is part of a national effort sponsored by the American Alliance of Museums, aiming to enhance learning experiences while addressing societal challenges.

The survey seeks input from museum-goers about their needs and values. Participants will have a chance to win one of ten $100 Visa gift cards for completing the survey. Historic Alexandria hopes this data will guide future decisions.

Archi Pyati, CEO of the Tahirih Justice Center, will participate in a "Meaningful Conversations" event focusing on protecting refugees and immigration. This event will take place at Alexandria's Black History Museum on January 16, 2025. Pyati brings extensive experience as an attorney and advocate for human rights.

Upcoming events include Story Time for Little Historians at the Alexandria Black History Museum on January 11, Martin Luther King Jr. Poster Exhibition at City Hall starting January 15, and a concert featuring Sean Gavin and Josh Dukes at The Lyceum on January 16.

Historic Alexandria also announced specialty tours such as "Outlandish Tour" at the Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum from January 26 through February 9 and "A Magical Apothecary" tour inspired by Harry Potter starting February 23.

Additionally, fundraising dinners themed around books are planned to support scholarships in honor of Joseph McCoy and Benjamin Thomas. These dinners encourage discussions on works like "Of Poetry and Protest: From Emmett Till to Trayvon Martin."

The George Washington Birthday Parade will take place in Old Town Alexandria on February 15, celebrating Washington's legacy with various participants expected to join.
