Registration is now open for the upcoming Condominium and Community Association Training sessions, aimed at homeowners, property managers, and prospective buyers of common interest communities. The City of Alexandria, in collaboration with the law firm Mercer Trigiani, is sponsoring these workshops throughout FY2025. These educational sessions aim to inform participants about the structure and governance of common interest communities, enhance community board members' understanding of management and budgeting, and help communities comprehend state laws regarding open meetings and governance.

The training will be conducted via Zoom at no cost to participants; however, registration is mandatory. Three sessions are scheduled for 2025:

- Saturday, February 8: "Insurance - What Owners Should Know and Let's Talk Water Damage!"

- Saturday, March 22: "Building a Budget"

- Saturday, May 3: "Resale Disclosure"

Condominiums are noted as an affordable homeownership option for first-time buyers in Alexandria. The city aims to raise awareness about community association management to preserve these housing resources.
