Alexandria invites applications for Spring 2025 City Academy

The City of Alexandria is inviting residents to apply for the Spring 2025 session of the Alexandria City Academy. This program offers participants an opportunity to learn about how the city operates and maintains safety while providing services to residents, businesses, and visitors.

The academy's curriculum includes seven weekly classes held on Thursday evenings from 6-8 p.m., starting March 27 and concluding on May 8. These sessions will take place at various locations throughout the city.

Applications for the City Academy are currently open and will close on Sunday, February 16 at midnight. The program aims to educate participants on how city departments collaborate to ensure a safe and sustainable community. Each class will focus on different aspects of Alexandria, covering topics such as:

- Meet Your City

- A Day in the Life of a Resident in the City of Alexandria

- What is the Historic and Cultural Impact of My City?

- How Does My City Stay Beautiful?

- How Does My City Keep Me Safe?

- How Do Local and State Government Work?

- How Do I Get Involved in My City?

Eligible applicants must be residents of Alexandria aged 18 years or older. The program is designed for those interested in public service and community involvement, offering ways to engage with local government that align with personal interests.
