The City of Alexandria’s Department of Recreation, Parks & Cultural Activities is organizing a community engagement initiative to discuss improvements at Schuyler Hamilton Jones Skatepark. The department has scheduled two events: a virtual meeting on Thursday, March 27, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., and an in-person gathering at the skatepark on Saturday, March 29, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The virtual event requires prior registration via Zoom. The in-person pop-up event will be held at the Schuyler Hamilton Jones Skatepark located at 3540 Wheeler Avenue.
Participants are encouraged to engage in discussions and share their ideas about future enhancements for the skatepark. "Your voice is impactful!" notes the invitation, highlighting the importance of community input in shaping the park's future.
Attendees can also enjoy complimentary snacks during the events while connecting with fellow community members. This initiative aims to bring together people who have a passion for skateboarding and those interested in contributing to the development of this recreational space.
To stay informed about the improvement process or provide feedback online, individuals are invited to visit the project website.
