Big economic changes continue to impact the Alexandria region, prompting a collective discussion on seizing growth opportunities for the future. The City of Alexandria, alongside the Alexandria Economic Development Partnership, has outlined several avenues for community participation in the economic dialogue.
A notable event in this initiative is the Economic Summit, slated for May 8, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Westin Alexandria in Carlyle, located at 400 Courthouse Square. The summit provides a platform to gain insights and register for the event.
In addition, a pre-summit survey is open to gather community perceptions regarding Alexandria's economic health. This survey, crucial for shaping discussions at the summit, closes on April 16.
Furthermore, a Countdown to the Summit: Virtual Q&A event is scheduled for April 21 at 7 p.m. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about Alexandria's current economic strategies, commercial uses, and investments, and engage in discussions to voice their questions and ideas.
Those unable to attend can access a recording or read the presentation from the previous Community Conversation event. More information about the Summit and its associated events is available at alexandriava.gov/EconomicSummit.
The city emphasizes support for all attendees, offering reasonable disability accommodations through Mariah Covington at mariah.covington@alexandriava.gov or via phone at 703.746.3978, Virginia Relay 711.
