Rep. Don Beyer, a representative of Virginia’s 8th congressional district, expressed concerns over several actions by the Trump administration through a series of tweets. Beyer, who has been serving in Congress since 2015, shared his views on corruption, Supreme Court rulings, and economic policy.

On April 17, 2025, Beyer criticized the Trump administration for alleged corruption. He accused the administration of "undermining independent institutions and weaponizing the IRS against a leading university for exercising its independence." Beyer further claimed that the administration was shielding "billionaire allies from accountability."

The following day, Beyer commented on the wrongful deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, highlighting that the Supreme Court had ruled unanimously for his return. Beyer condemned any White House attempts to defy the order, calling them "contemptuous, anti-Constitutional, and flat out anti-American."

In another tweet on April 19, 2025, Beyer referenced a prediction by Federal Reserve Board Chair Jerome H. Powell concerning President Donald Trump’s tariffs. Powell stated that the tariffs are "highly likely" to cause a temporary rise in inflation.

Don Beyer, 72, is originally from Trieste, Free Territory of Trieste, and holds a degree from Williams College. He currently resides in Alexandria, Virginia.
