The City of Alexandria’s Office of Housing is inviting members of the community to offer feedback on the draft Principles and Goals crafted for the Housing 2040 Master Plan, which is being developed to address Alexandria's housing strategy. The community is encouraged to review and comment on these guiding principles and goals, available in multiple languages including Spanish, Amharic, Arabic, Dari, and Pashto, through a comment form available until April 20.
These draft documents were recently presented at the Housing 2040 Community Meeting and Open House, held on March 18 at Patrick Henry K-8 School. Interested individuals can access the meeting presentation and summary of the Housing 2040 Survey findings on the city's Housing 2040 website.
The ongoing Housing 2040 initiative aims to update the 2013 Housing Master Plan, which provided a framework for Alexandria’s housing needs through 2025. The updated plan seeks to establish new housing affordability goals and evaluate existing housing policies and tools for supporting all Alexandria residents. Community members can view presentations and recordings related to Housing 2040, starting with the Housing Needs Assessment, on the Alexandria government website.
Updates regarding the Housing 2040 process can be found on various platforms, including the city’s eNews as well as social media channels like X and Facebook under the handles @HousingAlexVA and @HousingAlexandriaVA.
For assistance regarding disability accommodations, community members are requested to contact Anelva Corcos-Beltran using the provided contact details. Additionally, interpretation and translation services are available for those preferring communication in languages other than English, with inquiries directed to the Language Access Program via email or phone.
