Starting December 30, 2024, and continuing through August 1, 2025, the ramps connecting eastbound Duke Street to Van Dorn Street and Van Dorn Street to eastbound Duke Street will be closed. These closures are part of the West End infrastructure project aimed at installing roadway infrastructure.

Traffic for the eastbound Duke Street to Van Dorn Street ramp will be redirected through nearby streets. Drivers will take a right onto South Walker Street from Duke Street, followed by a left onto Stevenson Avenue, with signs directing them onto Van Dorn Street. Similarly, traffic from Van Dorn Street heading to eastbound Duke Street will follow detour signs onto Stevenson Avenue and then make a right onto South Walker Street before being directed back onto Duke Street.

Both vehicle and pedestrian access on these ramps will be restricted during this period. Traffic control devices will be set up along the detour routes to ensure safety. Despite these changes, businesses along Duke Street will remain operational.

The developer has committed to providing written notifications directly to residential properties and businesses in the vicinity regarding these changes.

For any questions or concerns about these closures, individuals can contact Alex311. Additionally, free interpretation and translation services are available by emailing LanguageAccess@alexandriava.gov or calling 703-746-3960.
